Overview
Custom Precision Change Parts for Packaging Machines
ZSCNC supplies drawing-based packaging machine change parts for container handling, positioning and format changes. Our Wuxi machining base focuses on CNC milling and turning. Send the approved drawings, container profile, material specification and quantities for a part-specific quotation.
Batch machining example: Components with bores, slots and stepped profiles. For your change parts, specify the geometry, material grade and finish in the approved drawing.
Manufacturing to OEM Drawings and CAD Models
Change parts are format-specific components used when equipment handles a different bottle, jar, vial or container. We manufacture to the customer-approved revision and agreed acceptance criteria. Replacement fit, machine timing and handling performance must be checked in the complete equipment.
Types of Packaging Change Parts
Star Wheels and Pocket Wheels
For star wheels and pocket wheels, specify the container envelope, pocket profile, pitch, entry and exit transitions, and required clearance. Include the mounting bore, keyway, locating holes and datum scheme. Container samples can support a review, but worn samples do not establish the original nominal dimensions.
Star-Wheel Pocket Clearance and Mounting Datums
Identify the measurement height and container dimensional variation used to define clearance. State how pocket positions relate to the mounting axis and locating features. Material and geometry changes require customer approval. PEEK is a customer-specified option rather than the default for star wheels.
Guide Rails, Transfer Plates and Positioning Components
Guide sections, transfer plates, pusher blocks and locating components are reviewed for contact geometry, mounting access and edge requirements. Provide mating-part information where assembly clearance depends on several components. See related custom packaging machinery parts.
Filling, Capping and Container-Handling Parts
RFQs may include nozzle-centering guides, chuck inserts, format spacers and transfer components. Timing screws and complex helical profiles require a machining-route review before acceptance. Explore the related filling-machine parts and 316L capping cams.
Critical Features to Specify
| Feature | Drawing information | Inspection planning |
|---|---|---|
| Container-contact profiles | Pocket shape, clearance, radii and profile tolerance | Datums and accessible measurement points |
| Mounting interfaces | Bore fits, hole positions, keyways and locating pins | Relationships to the machine mounting datum |
| Contact surfaces and edges | Surface texture, edge breaks and burr criteria | Protected areas and agreed acceptance limits |
| Replacement sets | Part revision, mating interfaces and set identification | Critical dimensions across the ordered batch |
Achievable tolerances depend on part geometry, material, workholding and measurement method. We do not apply a universal tolerance or promise adjustment-free installation. Accurate machining supports the approved design; it does not guarantee jam-free handling or a specified changeover time.
Customer-Specified Materials and Surface Finishes
Specify the exact polymer or metal grade rather than a broad material family alone. POM, UHMW-PE, PEEK, aluminum and stainless steel may be considered according to the drawing and intended application. Friction, wear, rigidity, cleaning conditions and container contact are application-specific selection requirements.
For structural components, see our 6061-T6 packaging machine parts. For a specific gripper application, see PEEK gripper fingers. These examples do not establish the best material for every change part.
Anodizing, polishing or other secondary finishing is confirmed with the order, including its effect on fits and dimensions. Material certificates, traceability and food-contact documents must be requested before quotation so availability can be checked for the selected stock. Compliance is not included by default.
CNC Machining and Batch Requirements
We review tool access, setup datums, clamping and dimensional stability before confirming the machining route. Our base has no in-house 5-axis, EDM or wire-cutting equipment. Features requiring additional processes need separate confirmation before acceptance.
For prototypes and repeat batches, identify the approved drawing revision, ordered quantity and critical characteristics. Any material or design substitution needs customer approval. Lead time is confirmed for the specific order rather than inferred from a general delivery claim.
Repeat Orders and Complete Format Sets
For a repeat-order quotation, list each part number and drawing revision separately, with sample quantity, quantity per release and estimated annual demand. Identify left/right versions, paired components and quantities per complete format set. Please flag revisions that must not be mixed within an assembly.
Before a production release, agree any sample-approval requirement, critical dimensions, set identification and inspection records. Reorders should reference the approved revision and any accepted changes rather than rely on a photograph or an earlier purchase description alone.
Inspection and Replacement-Part Review
Define the required checks for pocket profiles, mounting bores, hole positions, runout, surface texture and edges. Measurement methods and reporting scope are agreed during technical review. CMM or scanning methods are confirmed only where required and available for the geometry; no unverified inspection equipment is assumed.
See our quality inspection information. If working from a sample, agree the reconstructed drawing before manufacture. The equipment owner validates installed clearance, timing, container transfer and cleaning suitability.
