Overview
Custom 316L Filling Valve Bodies with Specified Surface Finishing
ZSCNC reviews drawing-based 316L filling valve bodies for beverage and liquid-processing equipment. Our Wuxi machining base focuses on CNC milling and turning. Material, sealing features, finish and inspection are agreed for each order.
Electropolishing by Confirmed Process Route
If electropolishing is required, specify the finish standard, surface-texture requirements, treated areas and acceptance criteria. The secondary-process route and inspection scope must be confirmed before quotation. Electropolishing is not assumed to remove every defect or validate the complete valve's cleanability.

Critical Valve-Body Features
| Feature | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Valve seats and sealing interfaces | Profile, angles, mating fits, datums and acceptance criteria. |
| Bores and guide features | Diameter fits, positional relationships, measurement length and surface texture. |
| Connections and mounting faces | Thread or connection standard, mounting geometry, flatness and relevant tolerances. |
| Flow passages and cross-holes | Passage geometry, tool access, burr condition and accessible inspection points. |
Achievable tolerances depend on geometry, material and measurement method. No universal machining tolerance, zero-leakage result or fixed seal-life guarantee is assumed. Filling accuracy, pressure integrity and leakage must be validated in the complete assembly.
316L Material and Documentation
State the required grade, stock condition and any material-standard requirements. Suitability for product chemistry, cleaning chemicals, temperature and chloride exposure is assessed for the intended application; the material name is not a corrosion guarantee.
Request material certificates, heat-number traceability and any food-contact documents in the RFQ. Availability is confirmed for the selected stock and order. EN 10204 3.1 certificates are not promised by default.
Application Standards and Acceptance
If the project refers to ASME BPE, FDA requirements, EHEDG guidance or another application standard, identify the applicable requirements and required evidence before quotation. ZSCNC does not claim automatic certification or compliance from machining 316L or specifying electropolishing.
Surface Texture and Edge Condition
Define required Ra values, measurement locations and any pre- or post-finishing allowance. Include seal-entry edge details and protected sealing faces. Cross-hole intersections and thread exits need an agreed burr-removal and checking method.
Surface finish alone does not establish aseptic suitability, prevent biofilm, eliminate contamination or confirm CIP/SIP compatibility. These depend on the complete design and validated operating process.
Manufacturing and Inspection Review
We review workholding, datum control, cutter reach, internal-feature access and any secondary process before confirming the order. Our base has no in-house 5-axis, EDM or wire-cutting equipment. Extra process requirements are confirmed separately.
Inspection reports, measurement equipment access and reporting scope are agreed from the drawing. See our quality inspection information and CNC turning scope.

Replacement and OEM Filling Components
Provide the approved drawing revision and mating-part information for replacement valve bodies. Changes to material, geometry or finish need customer approval. Related parts include counter-pressure filler components within our filling-machine parts scope.
Filling Valve Body Procurement Questions
Should dimensions be checked before or after electropolishing?
Identify which dimensions and surface-texture requirements apply to the finished valve body, and which intermediate checks you need before electropolishing. For sealing bores, valve seats and mating fits, agree the inspection stage and measurement access before quotation. Mark any surfaces that require protection or separate acceptance.
How can a sample valve body be approved for repeat orders?
Agree the sample quantity, drawing revision, finishing condition and inspection record before machining. Provide the mating stem, seat or seal specifications needed for customer assembly trials. Record sample approval and any drawing changes before releasing a production batch; confirm whether later orders use the same approved revision and process scope.
